The Office of Arts & Cultural Affairs will host an introductory presentation by artists Mags Harries and Lajos Héder of Cambridge, Mass. The nationally-recognized artist team was recently selected to develop public art for the First Hill Streetcar line. Meet the artists 6 to 8 p.m., Wednesday, June 16, at the Wing Luke Museum of the Asian Pacific American Experience, 719 South King St.

The Office of Arts & Cultural Affairs will host an introductory presentation by artists  Mags Harries and Lajos Héder of Cambridge, Mass. The nationally-recognized artist team was recently selected to develop public art for the  First Hill Streetcar line. Meet the artists 6 to 8 p.m., Wednesday, June 16, at the Wing Luke Museum of the Asian Pacific American Experience, 719 South King St.

At the presentation, the artists will speak about their past projects and share initial observations on integrating artwork in the streetcar line. Harries and Héder will answer questions and accept written comments from the audience.  The artists will begin creating design proposals for the artwork following their visit.

Harries and Héder formed Harries/Héder Collaborative in Cambridge, Mass., in 1990 and have since been working together on major public commissions. A panel of art and design professionals selected Harries and Héder from a pool of 200 national applicants. The selection panel included arts professionals who live and work in neighborhoods to be served by the streetcar.
