Spells for Collective Resonance: “where we’re going, we can breathe” Reading & Performance

Join us for a reading and performance in celebration of resistance, mutual aid, and community dreaming as we build a shared space of protection, safety, solidarity, and belonging.
On the occasion of the exhibit Eight Years of Inscape AiR: Resistance and Belonging at the Historic Immigration Building, this event will gather writers and artists featured in Breathing in a Time of Disaster and the UW Bothell BIPOC Story Circle Project, including Ching-In Chen, Geneviève Hicks, Carole Hsiao, Noor Alnaaz Islam, Ye Qing Jiang, Cassie Mira, Korede Oseni, Vitoria Ramos, Angelica Urquizo and JM Wong.
“Where we’re going, we can breathe” is a line from a collective poem curated for Forward Together’s Trans Day of Resilience.

The CityArtist Program presents Saina Heshmati’s Whereabouts, on display at ARTS at King Street Station. This exhibition captures the grounding freedom of attention to and honoring of the everyday in a chaotic world. Through textile drawing, she depicts her deep-rooted humanity and the preciousness of being alive through highlighting her everyday experiences.
