You’re invited to the dedication of Celeste Cooning’s artwork Bounty at the Jackson Park Golf Course Perimeter Trail opening celebration, 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., Saturday, Sept. 28. The trail is located at 1000 N.E. 135th Street.
Bounty serves as a threshold for the trail and creates a sense of place at a prominent entry point. The artwork symbolically references the flora and fauna of the surrounding community. Meet the artist after the ceremony.
Also at the celebration, learn about the trail and local environment with information provided by Thornton Creek Alliance and Friends of Licorice Fern Natural Area. Naturalist and bird expert Woody Wheeler will lead a nature walk on the trail.
The event is hosted by The Friends of Jackson Park Trail and Seattle Parks and Recreation. The artwork was commissioned with Parks and Recreation 1% for Art funds.
