Ken Marulis What I would like to see, and I’ve thought of this often, is a pedestrian promenade on one of those piers, especially one that might be nearest The Olympic Sculpture Park. The pier would have mini painters studios, perhaps 10×12 ft. lining the perimeter of the pier. They would be well lit and heated and during the warmer months their walls would open and the painters would do their work in the open air. While I do envision this as a painters market I do not envision it as an opportunity to sell trinkets or to even engage in on-location sales. This would be a tourist attraction for the city and the studios could be provided free of charge or for a minimal fee. The city’s vision of a special waterfront would be enhanced and the artist community would be provided with a high profile venue and a place to work.
