Children of the Sea by Marita Dingus is a mixed-media installation featuring three African-American cherub-like figures that “swim” among seaweed and vines located on the west interior wall of the library addition. The artwork was inspired by an existing bas relief frieze adorning the exterior of the building and the mythical Yoruba momolokun, “children of the sea.”

Ancestors by Vivian Linder is three earth-toned dimensional relief panels that depict the artist’s interpretation of Aztec, Mayan and Western African influences.
