Seattle Center seeks artist for ‘Artists at Play’ project

Bornstein SC95.047.05A partnership of Center Art LLC, Seattle Center and Seattle Center Foundation is seeking an experienced, energetic and imaginative artist/design team to provide design and fabrication services for the Artists at Play project. The project is a play area that will help reinvent and enliven up to a three-acre area within the former Fun Forest North site at Seattle Center.

The call is open to artists living in the Pacific Northwest (Washington, Oregon, Idaho and Alaska). The budget is $800,000, inclusive of all design, construction, artist and/or designer fees, materials, fabrication, installation, outreach, taxes and permits.The application deadline is  11 p.m., Sept. 4, 2013 (Pacific Daylight Time).

A selection panel will choose an artist/design team following a two-stage process this fall. Construction is scheduled to be complete in 2014.

Information session
A Q & A session for prospective applicants will be held 6 to 8 p.m., Tuesday, Aug. 20, at the Next 50 Pavilion at Seattle Center, 305 Harrison Street.
