Cordaviva is a powerhouse of dance music influenced by the disparate rhythms and styles of the African diaspora. They come to City Hall’s outdoor plaza, 600 Fourth Ave., for a free, all-ages performance, 12 to 1:30 p.m., Thursday, Aug. 15 as part of the Seattle Presents free summer concert series.
Seattle Presents features eight consecutive weeks of free concerts on Thursdays, July through August, at City Hall.
Cordaviva’s upbeat original music is a unique blend of soukous, rumba, Afrobeat, funk and various Latin styles. Bright horns compliment sublime vocal harmonies sung in various languages, soulful guitars and relentlessly driving percussion.
