We’d like to welcome two new members of our team. Willem de Koch will join the Communications & Outreach team as events & marketing intern to assist with summer events, including the Seattle Presents summer concert series and Mayor’s Arts Awards. Willem will also write for content for the blog and social media. He is a Seattle native currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in trombone performance from the Manhattan School of Music, where he also has worked in the Office of the President. His new music brass quartet, The Westerlies, have played for Seattle and New York audiences since 2011. He enjoys a career as a performer, improviser, composer and educator.
Zoe Funai will join our team to assist with the Artists Up program — a partnership between our office, Artist Trust and 4Culture to present a three-week training series to support under-represented artists. Zoe is currently enrolled at the University of Washington pursuing Bachelor’s degrees in communications and flute performance. She has interned and worked with the Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure, Make-A-Wish Foundation and Ronald McDonald House Charities. She is also the principal flautist of the UW Symphony Orchestra.
