We’re seeking an events coordinator

We’re seeking an events coordinator to join our Community Development and Outreach team. The events coordinator will book, promote and manage programming for art, cultural and community events, including performances and art exhibitions at City Hall, lectures, workshops and public forums. This position also coordinates facilities, staffing and other logistics for events. 

Required qualifications include two years of professional experience in event management, public relations or facility sales/scheduling and a bachelor’s degree in business administration (or an equivalent combination of education, training and work experience). The ideal candidate will have experience in event planning, fine or performing arts, stage management, public speaking, and volunteer coordination.

The authority for this position is part-time, however the position may work 20 to 40 hours per week in 2012.
