The Office of Arts & Cultural affairs is seeking an arts program specialist for the Cultural Partnerships Program. The program provides grants to Seattle’s cultural organizations, youth arts programs, individual artists and community groups. As a member of the team, the arts program specialist will manage application and panel processes for funding programs and provide assistance to applicants. The selected applicant will manage contracts and help artists, arts organizations and community groups with project development.
The arts program specialist will also promote awareness of the Office of Arts & Cultural Affairs’ programs and the value of the arts and culture in Seattle, make new contacts, and facilitate collaborations between artists, arts groups and cultural organizations.
Applicants must have two years of professional experience in project management and program development, including experience with arts and cultural organizations, artists and community groups. Applicants must also have arts administration and public speaking experience; a bachelor’s degree in fine arts or a related field (or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience); knowledge of contemporary arts disciplines; and strong communication skills. Experience working with diverse communities and immigrant populations, as well as grants management, grant-writing or panel-review processes, is a plus.
