We’re seeking a project manager for the Public Art team to manage permanently sited and temporary artwork projects.
The Public Art team manages and stewards the city’s permanently sited and portable artworks and develops the annual Municipal Art Plan. The project manager’s duties will include developing public art projects, working with artists, developing calls to artists and coordinating artist selection processes, overseeing contracts and artwork development, grant writing, outreach and public relations, and preparing and managing project budgets.
The position requires two years of professional level experience in public art project management, including experience with arts organizations; and a bachelor’s degree in arts administration, art history, studio art, design or a closely related field (or a combination of education, training and experience that provides an equivalent background). The candidate must have professional level knowledge of contemporary art theory and history, artistic media and visual art.
