We are saddened by the passing of Bagley Wright, who contributed greatly to the arts and civic life of our city.
Mr. Wright was an influential arts patron; philanthropist; and developer, who was a key investor in Seattle’s landmark Space Needle. He died Monday at the age of 87 after a heart attack.
Mr. Wright played a pivotal role in the creation of Seattle’s arts and cultural scene. He was founding president of Seattle Repertory Theatre and a major benefactor of Seattle Art Museum.
A memorial service is planned for 3 p.m. Tuesday, July 26, at St. Mark’s Cathedral.
