Get wrapped up in exceptional quilt art from the Contemporary QuiltArt Association (CQA), on view in the City Hall galleries through Dec. 31. Beyond the Block is a juried exhibition of artworks by CQA artists who push beyond the square to expand the boundaries of quilt art.
The exhibition features 38 quilt artworks that incorporate paints, maps, buttons, beads, found objects, dischargedĀ fabrics (color removal from previously-dyed material), and fabrics ranging from hand-dyed to commercially-dyed. Beyond the Block showcases 26 Northwest artists.
A free artist reception with light refreshments will take place 4 to 6 p.m, Nov. 19 at City Hall.

Cathy Thomas says
I followed your link over to the Contemporary QuiltArt Association and saw so many beautiful works of art. As someone who has been quilting for decades and longarm quilting for over 9 years, I must say I am inspired. Continue to keep promoting art of all forms. And especially continue to get the word out about quilt art.
