Because of inclement weather today’s Seattle Presents performance by DANCE This has been moved to the City Hall lobby. The concert will start at noon and conclude at 1 p.m.
Rain or shine, catch DANCE This tomorrow at City Hall
Head on down to City Hall at noon tomorrow (Thursday) to catch more than 70 local teens performing a high-energy dance fusion, including hip-hop, b-boy, Bhangra and tap. The special preview performance of DANCE This kicks off the Seattle Presents free, outdoor, summer concert series at City Hall.
Audience members will have a chance to get in on the action. Stick around after the show and learn some moves for a flash mob dance to take place immediately following the performance at a secret downtown location!
With a chance of rain in the forecast, we’re crossing our fingers for an outdoor performance scheduled to last until 1:30 p.m. In the event of rain, the show will move inside the City Hall lobby and wrap up at 1 p.m.
The summer concerts are supported by Seattle Metropolitan Credit Union, Seattle Parks and Recreation, Summer in the City and Triamp Group.

Celtic and American folk roots for lunch, June 17
Enjoy a double bill of beguiling vocals grown from Celtic and American folk roots, noon to 1 p.m., Thursday, June 17 at City Hall. Rose Laughlin is “a true folk music chanteuse” writes Sing Out Magazine. Kat Eggleston won the Live Ireland Female Vocal Album of the Year and the Chicago Tribune raves she has “…the soul of a poet but the voice of an angel, not to mention that the lady can play a mean guitar.”

Caspar Babypants’ kiddie-pop fun at City Hall, June 3
Bring your kids to City Hall for the kiddie-pop sweetness and giddy humor of Caspar Babypants, this Thursday, June 3. This huggable children’s band, led by Chris Ballew of The Presidents of the United States of America, dishes up fun sing-alongs for kids that appeal to parents’ ears. Concert is from noon to 1 p.m.

TGIF! Seattle Symphony performs free concert at City Hall this Friday, May 21
Break free from your desk and sooth your soul with a free concert by the Seattle Symphony, 12 to 1 p.m., Friday, May 21, at City Hall. Maestro Gerard Schwarz conducts work by Ernest Bloch, Charles Griffes and Piotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky and soloists Jocelyn Chang, violin; Lauren Glass, flute; and Karissa Zadinsky, cello.
After the concert, mingle with the artists and enjoy light refreshments from FareStart catering in the Bertha Knight Landes room.

Dobro and slide-guitar guru Orville Johnson fronts a jam with A-list string players Paul Elliott, violin; Keith Lowe, bass; and John Miller, guitar, 12 to 1 p.m., Thursday, May 20, at City Hall. “Orville is a player’s player…,” writes The Seattle Times. “Arguably the best dobro player in America…His remarkable singing voice is only surpassed by his instrumental prowess,” raves FolkWorks Magazine.

The mallet men cometh to City Hall, May 6
What’s better than one massive concert marimba? Several marimbas playing in perfect harmony. The expert percussionists of SMQ Percussion Quartet will play exotic percussion instruments and inspiring marimba music at a free concert, 12 to 1 p.m., this Thursday, May 6 at City Hall.

Musical master gets mega-toast at City Hall, April 29
The casts of The 5th Avenue Theatre’s On The Town and Candide, Seattle Jewish Chorale, and Seattle Women’s Chorus will rally their forces this Thursday, April 29 at City Hall to celebrate the musical genius of Leonard Bernstein. This massive tribute performance is part of the Seattle Celebrates Bernstein festival happening around Seattle through June.

Grammy Award winners Eric Tingstad and Nancy Rumbel celebrate 25 years of music making with a trio performance featuring bassist Garey Shelton, 12 to 1 p.m., Thursday, April 15 at City Hall. Savor the sound of American home-style music seasoned with fingerstyle guitar, double reeds and ocarina (ancient flute).

CD Forum presents new creations at City Hall, April 1
Take your lunch to City Hall for a free performance, noon to 1 p.m., this Thursday, April 1. The Central District Forum for Arts & Ideas welcomes writer/performer Amontaine Aurore, performance artist Okanomodé (a.k.a. SoulChilde), singer/multimedia artist Cristina Orbé, and poet/vocalist Storme Webber. The CREATION Project is a yearlong professional development program that supports the creation of new work by Seattle’s African-American performing artists in the formative stages of their careers.
