Amiko Matsuo is an educator and artist. Matsuo sees her current artistic practice as most fulfilling when the work is generative and about strengthening connections. She is dedicated to learning with communities to create understandings. As a 2021 fellow with ART21, and recent TAT Lab graduate, she is also deeply involved in art pedagogy.

During Impressive!, Amiko led guests to play with the plasticity and wetness of paper and clay. They embossed, carved, imprinted, and impressed something of themselves into the materials. The space invited them to experiment together to create textures as they touched, marked, and felt, bringing the senses into focus.
