ArtSparks is back! June through September, Occidental Park will be buzzing with art installations and musical performances to bring an artistic presence to Pioneer Square and the entire Seattle community. Come join us in June for two exciting performances – June 10th with The Parnassus Project, and June 13 with Lemolo.
The Parnassus Project will perform in Occidental Park next Tuesday, June 10th from 12-1p.m. for the first performance in our new bi-monthly series, Chamber Music at Noon! We will be hosting these performances with KING-FM 98.1 every second and fourth Thursday of the month. The Parnassus Project, a young group of Seattle-based artists, strives to use their talent of classical music as a means of engaging their audience with a more interactive musical experience. The group of local artists enjoys performing in small, intimate venues that provide the opportunity to give audiences a “fresh classical concert experience.” Occidental Park will be the perfect space to do just that.
On Friday, June 13th, we will be teaming up with Mill St. Sessions to present a performance by Lemolo, a local indie-pop duo. Although Lemolo released their album only two years ago, they were named the “Best New Music of 2013” by City Arts Magazine, and also received recognition through their mention in the “Top Listener Voted Albums of 2012!” This talented pair will be performing from 12-1p.m. in Occidental Park. Mill St. Sessions is undertaken by Projectline Services, and celebrates Northwest musical talent by recording live sessions with musicians in the Smith Tower, but this special edition of Mill St. will take place in Occidental Park. See you at Occidental!
