This week, Jen Dixon and her team of volunteers installed her new artwork PlayLand as part of Seattle Department of Transportation’s (SDOT) Linden Avenue North Complete Streets Project. Playland consists of repurposed SDOT road signs used to create a large, colorful collage that mimics the contour of a roller coaster. The artwork takes its name from a 12-acre amusement park that operated adjacent to the site from 1930-1961.

Jen will give a tour of the artwork at 11:30 a.m. this Saturday, July 13 during the SDOT community celebration for the project, held from 10 a.m. to noon in front of Bitter Lake Community Center, 13035 Linden Ave. N. Go here for more details on Playland and the event.
