Bobby Medina and The Red Hot Band bring some sizzle to City Hall’s outdoor plaza with a performance jam packed with some of the greatest hits of all time, this Thursday, Aug. 9, noon to 1:30 p.m. The show is part of Seattle Presents, a free, lunchtime summer concert series. Check out the complete lineup here.
High energy and fast paced – this distinctively costumed Las Vegas-style show band plays it all, from jazz to Motown to rock, disco and Zydeco. In addition to a vast repertoire that ranges from big band swing to fiery Latin numbers and popular music (including Sinatra, pop, reggae, oldies and salsa) the show also features impersonations, humor and audience interaction. With band leader Medina in his 1940s zoot suit attire, you can expect popular hits like “La Bamba,” “Twist and Shout” and “Oye Como Va.”
Trumpeter, singer and entertainer Medina has been featured on national and world tours with the legendary Ray Charles and has performed with such artists as Mel Torme, Bobby Vinton, The Four Tops, The Spinners, The Coasters, Martha & the Vandellas and Chubby Checker. The musicians of The Red Hot Band perform on a variety of instruments including guitar, piano, bass, drums, flutes, saxophones and percussion instruments from around the globe.
Seattle Presents concerts are presented by the Seattle Office of Arts & Cultural Affairs in partnership with Seattle Parks and Recreation, Metropolitan Improvement District and Triamp Group.
