Seattle Presents free concerts at City Hall draw crowds, shows continue through August

More than 1,200 people gathered on City Hall’s outdoor plaza in July for Seattle Presents free lunchtime concerts. Join in the fun! The concerts continue every Thursday in August, starting with Sambatuque today, noon to 1:30! Check out the lineup here.

July 12 – Wheedle’s Groove

More than 400 people gathered on City Hall’s plaza for the first concert of the season, Wheedle’s Groove. The band was a coming together of some of the finest funk and soul musicians from Seattle’s thriving soul music scene of the ‘60s and ‘70s.

The funk and soul super-group includes members of local legends Black on White Affair; Cookin’ Bag; Cold, Bold & Together and more.

The group also includes former Seattle KYAC soul radio DJ Robert Nesbitt and guitarist Herman Brown, father of the popular Seattle rapper/producer Vitamin

 

July 19 – Shelby Earl

July 26 – Clinton Fearon and the Boogie Brown Band 

Izaak Mills, on sax for the Boogie Brown Band, jumps off stage to encourage the audience to dance and clap along.

Ire Taylor on percussion, with Davee C on the drums and Mark Oi on the guitar.
