Seattle City Councilmember Nick Licata today announced an agreement between the Seattle Parks and Recreation Department (Parks) and Building 11 LLC, the City’s private partner in rehabbing Building 11 at Magnuson Park. Both parties have agreed to retain affordable artist studios in the building. Their agreement also provides for the City to pursue renovating Building 30, the former naval administration building and hangar that until recently hosted dozens of arts and cultural events each year.
“I want to thank Councilmember Licata and the Building 11 artists who rolled up their sleeves to reach a fair and workable solution,” said Mayor Mike McGinn.”
