Information sessions for Latina/o artists begin July 8

ARTISTS UP—a collaborative effort of our office, Artist Trust and 4Culture to increase access for and better serve all artists in Seattle, King County and Washington stateinvites Latino/a artists to a bilingual informational series with resources, tips and networking.  Artists in all disciplines (dance, literary, media, music, public art, visual and theater) are welcome.  Interpreters and translated materials will be available. El Quetzal Restaurant will provide light refreshments.

Schedule
Two sequential sessions will be held at Langston Hughes Performing Arts Institute, 104 17th Ave. S.

Monday, July 8, 6:30 – 8:30 p.m.
Introduction: Learn about funding programs available from Seattle Office of Arts & Culture, Artist Trust and 4Culture, as well as key application elements.

Monday, July 15, 6:30 – 8:30 p.m.
Breaking Barriers: Established Latina/o artists will present examples of successful past projects and will share experiences.  Writer Felicia Gonzalez will facilitate presentations and a panel discussion by multi-disciplinary artist Michelle de la Vega, photographer Rodrigo Valenzuela, composer/musician Jovino Santos Neto, writer Alma Garcia, visual/public artist Juan Alonso and musician Monica Rojas Stewart.

Suggested donation:  $8 for two sessions or $5 for one session. No one will be turned away for lack of funds.

ARTISTS UP—un esfuerzo colaborativo de nuestra oficina, 4Culture y Artist Trust para aumentar el acceso y mejor servicio a todos los artistas en Seattle, King County y el estado de Washington—invita a artistas Latinas/os a una serie de sesiones informativas bilingües sobre recursos, consejos y redes sociales. Artistas de todas las disciplinas (danza, literatura, medios, música, arte público, visuales y teatro) están bienvenidas/os. Tendremos disponible intérpretes y material traducido. El Quetzal Restaurant proveerá refrigerios.

Introducción: Aprende sobre programas de financiación disponibles como también información importante para aplicar por Seattle Office of Arts & Culture, Artist Trust y 4Culture.

Rompiendo barreras: Artistas Latinas/os ya establecidos presentarán ejemplos de proyectos que fueron exitosos y compartirán sus experiencias. La escritora Felicia Gonzalez facilitará las presentaciones y una mesa redonda por la artista multidisciplinaria Michelle de la Vega, el fotógrafo Rodrigo Valenzuela, el compositor/músico Jovino Santos Neto, la escritora Alma Garcia, el artista visual/público Juan Alonso y la música Monica Rojas Stewart.
