Artwork dedicated at opening of Thomas C. Wales Park, April 16

Join in the dedication of Thomas C. Wales Park and Adam Kuby’s artwork Quarry Rings, 10 a.m., Saturday, April 16. Meet Kuby, enjoy the music of the John Hay Chorus, and learn about birding from the Seattle Audubon.

Thomas C. Wales Park, located at 2401 Sixth Ave. N., adds 1.3 acres of park land to the edge of downtown Seattle. The artwork Quarry Rings consists of five raised gabion-rock rings that reflect the site’s past and create a bird and bat nesting habitat in the park.

The artwork is funded by Seattle Parks & Recreation 2000 Parks Levy 1% for Art and construction funds.
