Proposals sought for temporary projects at Occidental Square

The city is seeking artists to bring temporary site-specific art and performances to Occidental Square this summer. Called ARTSparks, the program transforms the Pioneer Square neighborhood park into a showcase for the creative imagination.

All arts disciplines are welcome, and artists and organizations are encouraged to submit up to three original proposals for installation or performance. Artists are invited to produce temporary sculpture, environmental installations, media art, street theater, dance or music, making the park a lively, welcoming and unexpected venue for art from June through October.

Applicants must have demonstrated experience in producing public arts events or installations. Application deadline is Friday, May 6. Download the guidelines here.

ARTSparks is a partnership between the Office of Arts & Cultural Affairs, 4Culture’s site-specific program and Seattle Parks and Recreation.
